How Waterproof is it?

Much more than an ordinary brick wall . The outer skin consists of a waterproof gelcoat layer backed by chopped strand fibreglass mat impregnated with resin and bonded to a plywood backing and a moisture proof breather membrane.

The inner layer is bonded to a timber subframe which is filled with Celotex high density foam insulation. The finished wall is 100% waterproof and maintenance free.

How strong is it?

The external surface is extremely hard. It will not be damaged if hit with a hammer. The whole wall is structurally capable of taking much greater weights than any conservatory could possibly impose.( See test pictures)

Is it affected by insects, mould or rot?

All exposed materials used are biologically inert and totally unaffected by any plant or animal life.

How realistic are the bricks?

Very!  When installed as part of a conservatory, it is virtually impossible to tell the difference.

Will the bricks fall off?

Impossible!  The individual bricks form part of a continuous GRP sheet. They are not individual slips stuck on with adhesive, and so cannot fall off.

Can I paint the inside?

Yes. If you use Fermacell wall cladding, it is ready to paint with ordinary emulsion immediately after installation. If you prefer, you can use your own internal cladding or plasterboard.

How about damp? Wundawall is much more damp proof than a conventional brick/block wall. Grp External wall is 100% waterproof and in addition, all our Walls have 2 alumimium foil barriers. and a breather membrane. Can I install it myself? Yes Wundawall is designed with the DIY installer in mind. No specialist skills are needed.

Wundawall Frequently asked questions

Can I have internal window boards?

Yes. Although they do not serve any structural purpose or improve insulation, some customers prefer to have an internal cill (click for configuration drawing).

Please bear in mind, though that they do take up a surprising amount of

floor space.
